Upcoming Honda Cars in India

Honda Vezel

Honda, the Japanese auto major has been making automobiles for almost a decade now. They have been pretty reliable and successful in their efforts, both globally and in India. Let us take a look at the few upcoming Honda cars.

Honda Accord 2016

Launched in 1976, the Accord has been on the road for a long time. This is the ninth generation Honda Accord. It carries forward the same dimensions from previous generation but the headlights are new and neatly integrated to a ‘sportier’ grille. The bumper is new as well. The rear also gets a new bumper with a new finish for the lights and chrome trim.

Honda Accord comes with four engine options – two diesel and two petrol – a base diesel 2.2 litre unit, a base petrol 2.0 litre unit, a top end diesel 2.2 litre unit and a 2.4 litre four cylinder petrol unit. All the engines come mated to a six speed automatic gearbox as standard. Expected launch date is February 2016.

Honda Brio SUV 2015

Derived from the Brio platform, comes another car. This new compact crossover comes with a 3-row configuration and can accommodate 7 passengers easily. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel unit. Honda Brio SUV 2015 is expected to be launched in India by August 2015.

The Honda Vezel will enter the growing compact SUV segment in India and comes equipped with many advanced technologies like G-Force Control Technology, City brake active system, Electric parking brake, Automatic brake hold along with Pedestrian Injury Mitigation Body and Advanced Compatibility Engineering body. Honda will offer the all new Vezel in 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines with two-wheel drive (2WD) option.

There may be one more electric motor version, but with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine. Both the petrol mills are made available with a CVT or seven speed CVT in two-wheel drive (2WD) or four-wheel drive (4WD) configuration. Honda Vezel expected launch in India by September 2015.

Honda CR-V Facelift

The CR-V, Honda’s flagship product in India, will see an update in 2015. Design changes that will be seen include redesigned headlights with LED daytime running lights, a new grille, tweaked bumpers and a new infotainment system.

Honda Jazz

The 2015 Honda Jazz is expected to launch in India on July 8, 2015. The Jazz will launch with a petrol and a diesel engine. The petrol engine is the 1.2-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder unit borrowed from the Brio and Amaze, while the diesel is the 1.5-liter i-DTEC also seen on other Honda cars in India. The diesel will come exclusively with a manual transmission whereas the petrol gets a manual and a CVT with paddle shifters.
